Posted on: July 23rd, 2008 Fake Bands: Queen
Queen is rock royalty, sorry for the pun, but it’s true and Queen is Freddie Mercury.
Sure Brian May is a great guitarist, John Deacon and Roger Taylor were an awesome rhythm section,
but As I said There is no Queen without Freddie. I don’t need to go into Queen’s history, if you don’t know it or
know Queens songs you should really get the fuck off our website NOW. So when Freddie Mercury tragically died of
AIDS in 1991. Queen was over with, done, how in the hell do you have Queen without Freddie. There were some
benefit concerts throughout the years where people sat in for Freddie, George Michael among others, which is
fine with rockheap.com, if you want to raise money for charities go right ahead. By the end of the 90’s
Bassist John Deacon retired from music. All seemed right in the world of Queen. We had all these great albums,
concerts and videos to remember.
You see I have a vested interest in Queen. Queen’s “Jazz” was the first record I ever purchased with my own
money, I believe I was 7 or 8, I got the money from selling weed on the corner(just kidding). I have no idea
where I got the money from. But I came home from a trip to Record World and opened this awesome vinyl record, I
inhaled the smell of the album and stared at it for a long, long time. I turned my record player on, took the
album out and what fell out was a giant 3 panel poster of hundreds of girls naked on bicycles. My eyes fell out
of their sockets and I stared at this, this art work and realized I had chosen the right kind of music.
Long Live Rock. I mean the songs on the album were Bicycle Race and Fat Bottom Girls, so the poster was a natural.
Unfortunately to my utter disappointment future record purchases did not come with naked girls. Queen got me hooked
on rock. So when I heard Queen was touring with Paul Rodgers in 2005, I thought what type of blasphemous
donkey shit is this.
I mean you guys did not make enough money from Queen???
Really, can you please let Freddie Mercury rest in peace. And the fact the Brian May has
said this is a tribute to Freddie’s memory rings so hollow, I can drive a bus right through it.
Paul Rogers who fronted Free in the early 70’s which had the rock staple “All Right Now” Went on to form one of
the best hard rock bands of the 70’s Bad Company, which smoked. I mean hands down one of the best bands of the
entire 70’s. Now Paul Rogers has a very distinct bluesy based voice, the complete opposite of Freddie Mercury’s
high pitched falsetto, So why he agreed to do this bunk is a mystery to me. So these clowns toured and what
did they do? Half Bad Company songs and half Queen songs, which sound truly awful. They released a live CD of
this bat guano and decide they are going to do a CD of originals, I’m counting the days…By the way the call
themselves Queen + Paul Rodgers. In my equation Queen + Paul Rodgers=Complete Suck!!! You’ve been warned.
This is fake-ass shit.
