Posted on: July 23rd, 2008 Fake Bands: Foreigner
In what’s becoming more of reality, than just a bad joke, Fake Bands are sprouting up like horrible weeds that
won’t die, take Foreigner, A very successful guitar based band of the late 70’s and early 80’s, you remember
Cold As Ice, Double Vision, Feels Like The First Time and Juke Box Hero. Then they morphed into
lite rock cheesters, with hits like I Want To Know What Love Is. Well with the passing of time and musical styles,
everybody but the guys in Foreigner realized that they sucked and should call it a day. So in 1995 they released
their final album Mr.Moonlight and to no one’s surprise, 17 people bought it. In 1997 lead singer Lou Graham was
diagnosed with a brain tumor, he battled it, yet his medication was damaing
To his vocal chords so he took time off to recuperate. Fast forward to 2002, performing at a festival in The
Netherlands Lou Graham and lead guitarist and fellow founding member Mick Jones realized they just couldn’t
get along So Lou left the group to pursue a solo career( how’s that going Lou?). Mick Jones realizing he has
no other talent but being the guitarist for Foreigner decided to reform the band with completely new members,
kind of like classic rock Menudo. So he looks to world of forgotten heavy metal band members and enlists The
lead singer of Hurricane, the bassist from Dokken and Jason Bonham of Bonham on drums, who is also the late,
great John Bonham’s son. Matter of fact, Foreigner has 22 ex-members, I mean that has to be some kind of world
record right? Well this farce still tours to this day, So if you are going to a Foreigner show, be wary cause
this band is Foreign even to it’s own fans.
