Posted on: July 30th, 2008 Fake Bands: INXS

INXS was the new wave band of the 80’s, cool haircuts(for the 80’s anyway) moody songs, a larger than life lead
singer ,Michael Hutchence, plus aussie accents. Now those sound like the right ingredients for success.
The chicks dug it and if the chicks dug it, then Rockheap dug it, dig it? But actually they were very good.
They released 5 very cool albums in 80’s, but it was 1987’s Kick that made them a household name. 4 hit singles
and millions of records sold, INXS was the darling of MTV. But then came the 90’s and there went the
record sales. They released for 4 albums each selling worse than the last. A few minor hits here and there,
but nothing much. Then in 1997 lead singer Michael Hutchence was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a
hotel room. Naked, hanging from the closet is more freaky than mysterious, the corner ruled it suicide, but
many speculated his death was actually an accident, the result of autoerotic asphyxiation. When I first heard
that, I thought he died while getting laid in a car. I was very wrong. Who knew. Well with Michael dead and
pretty much no one knowing anybody else’s name in the band, you’d figure INXS was done, you’d figure wrong.
After touring with differnet singers, they embarked on what is probably the lamest idea in the history of rock
Now the hacks in INXS know they have no creativity or talent to try to start something new, so lets try to
milk every cent out of the name INXS. They and the creator of Survivor came up with the most un-rock move ever,
by trying to find on new lead singer for INXS by having a TV show contest on CBS of all networks, were the demo
is 55-104 years old. So this joke goes on for a few months some tool named JD Fortune wins(what a cool rock
name, NOT) and wha-la instant band. They release a record titled Switch on Epic and a few months later,
shockingly the get dropped from the label. You see people might watch this train wreck, because it’s free,
but getting them to pay for it, just not gonna happen. The band continues to tour though. I think we’ve had an
excess of INXS. Stay away from this mess.
