Posted on: September 25th, 2008 AC/DC Says No To iTunes

AC/DC has announced it won’t release it’s new album, Black Ice, on iTunes on October 20th. The groups guitarist Angus Young was quoted as saying, “We don’t make singles, we make albums.” Ohhh, excuse us, you have integrity! Hmmm, considering you have also made a deal with the world’s largest retailer, Wal-Mart, to be the exclusive seller of this upcoming CD of yours, you’ll excuse us while we vomit on ourselves. Hey Angus and Co., fuck you and your sanctimonious bullshit preaching. Did you ever think about people who don’t live near a Wal-Mart or perhaps all the independent mom and pop record stores out there who will lose business because you slack ass jackals have sold out to the man. So don’t lecture us you dipshit. Maybe we would buy the album if 8 out of the 10 songs didn’t suck.

AC/DC’s new album Black Ice will have three different collectible covers in yellow, red and white. This is being done to hide the puke which fans will hurl when they are forced to buy the album from Wal-Mart.

The former Beach Boy and his label, Capitol/EMI, are partnering with newspaper publisher Gannett for Wilson’s new release, That Lucky Old Sun. Starting Friday, the album will be streamed free on 50 Gannett newspaper and TV websites, including USAToday.com. Wilson describes his new effort as an “interwoven series of ’rounds’ with interspersed spoken word”. Here’s hoping whoever is listening to the stream also has a copy of USA Today handy to vomit into.

Daughtry has contributed his cover version of Foreigner’s ode to getting laid “Feels Like The First Time” to CNN. CNN plans to use this new version of the song as part of it’s election coverage of first time voters. Considering how stupid most 18-20 year olds are, Rockheap would actually rather these kids get laid than vote. Mick Jones of Foreigner is quoted as saying “Daughtry’s version of the song is very cool and has more than captured the essence of the original.” Translation: “I don’t give a shit what it sounds like, I’m getting paid bitches”

Here’s the video they created for this pointless cover:

Posted on: August 18th, 2008 AC/DC and The Man???

It’s been more than 25 years since the corporations have sucked the life-force out of rock music, but never in my wildest dreams did i ever expect AC/DC and the world’s largest retailer to jump into bed together, but apparently hell has frozen over. If you want the new AC/DC album the only place to get it is, Wal-Mart. If the thought of stepping into a Wal-Mart repels you, it can be pre-ordered starting today on walmart.com, samsclub.com and acdc.com. The album, titled “Black Ice”, is available for $11.88. The Brendan O’Brien-produced LP, the band’s first in eight years, isn’t due in Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club stores until October 20th, and the first single “Rock ‘N’ Roll Train” hits August 28th. Posted on: August 12th, 2008 AARP Members are Hot Blooded

The AARP is sponsoring an air guitar/lip-sync contest on conjunction with Foreigner. The contest is open to all ages but limited to the following Foreigner anthems: “Cold As Ice”, “Hot Blooded”, “Juke Box Hero”, “Feels Like The First Time” and “Too Late”. The winner will be selected by a combo of judges and site users, and will receive one of Mick Jones’ guitars. The organization is also sponsoring Foreigner’s current tour. Which sound about right, considering the tour itinerary is made up of theme parks, casinos, state fairs and vineyards.
